Noah

Noah had an ear infection about a month ago...first one EVER! It cleared up quickly, but he developed this really nasty cough that just would not go away. After school Monday, I noticed some red spots around his eyes, on his forehead, and even on his eyelids. He then started complaining that he could not breathe very well, so off we went to the pediatrician.
Turns out that he had another ear infection (different ear this time) and the red spots were actually broken capillaries from violent coughing. The doctor put him on a whole host of medications. Steroids, antibiotics, albuterol (sp?) treatments, cough syrup, nasal spray...basically the entire pharmacy. Through it all he has insisted that he still go to school. He is still enjoying it so much and can't stand the thought of missing a day. He says he feels much better, the spots have faded, and last night he actually slept without wheezing. I think he definitely is on the mend!

A lot of kids get sick a lot when they first going to school. Especially kids who haven't been in traditional daycare. He'll build up an immunity this year and next year should be much better!
