I recently learned that the kid's old babysitter "Aunt Dea" is going to have a baby. This is part of the conversation that ensued when I tried to tell the boys...
Me: Guess who is going to have a baby?
Noah and Jonah: You?
Me: No, do you think I should have a baby?
Jonah: YESSSSS!!!!
Noah: No 'mam I think you should have two.
Me: Well it is not me, so who do you think it is?
Noah: Grammy!!!
Me: Bahahahahahahahahaha!!!!! Nope, try again.
Noah: Well I know it can't be Uncle Tj and Aunt Holly.
Me: Why are you so sure it is not them?
Noah: Because Momma, they live in Japan!
Me: What does that have to do with having a baby?
Noah: I don't think they have hospitals over there.
Me: I think they do have hospitals.
Noah: No they don't.
Me: Yes they do have hospitals in Japan. But even if they don't, that has nothing to do with having a baby.
Noah: Well where else would they get one from?
Me: Ummmmm...it isn't them anyway so try again.
Eventually they figured out that it was Aunt Dea. I forget sometimes how innocent my children really are. I am also thinking that maybe the ten centimeter story did not stick after all!
The braggings of a busy Mom of her precious gifts from God: her hubby and four boys.

Testosterone
There was a lot of that in my house today! Each of my boys had a friend over. That means six boys in one house with one Momma! Joe escaped early this morning and called home around lunch to see how I was faring. He asked me if I had changed my mind yet (about wanting another child). I told him that yes, that indeed I had changed it. Now instead of wanting one more, I would like to have three more!
It was such fun today in a way that can't be explained but only experienced. Children certainly are a blessing and I can't even begin to imagine my life without them.

:(
My baby is growing up and it is so bittersweet. I have been trying to write this post for a long time now, but it has just been too hard. I know that Micah is thriving and for that I am grateful, but the thought of no longer having a baby in the house is a little sad for me. He is turning one Saturday and that means time to wean. He is doing great with the weaning. I on the other hand am having a difficult time. Not only is it physically painful and an inconvenience, it is also wreaking havoc on my emotions. I am going into this knowing that this very well may be the last baby that I ever nurse. It is possible that I will never again know that feeling that I am providing every need for a baby.
Don't get me wrong, by no means am I saying that our family is complete. I have been very vocal about the fact that I would like another baby. Joe on the other hand is not quite there yet. I don't think that a baby is really something that one spouse should deliberately surprise the other spouse with. Joe has perfectly valid reasons why we should not have another baby right now and I can't say that I disagree with any of them. However, as much as I may agree with his reasoning, that does not change my desire.
We have decided to wait for a year and then discuss having another baby. I know full well that he may still feel the same way in a year and after one year I may have changed my mind. I think that is why I am having such a hard time with Micah turning one. I have been in "baby mode" for so long now that I don't really know what it is going to be like to not have a baby in the house.
I will enjoy longer periods of sleep, but boy will I miss those middle of the night feeding and cuddling sessions. I am going to enjoy watching Micah take his first step, but I know that I will miss the sound of him crawling through the house at top speed. My baby is growing up and it is so bittersweet.

Girls, Girls, And More Girls
If you ask anyone in my family, they will tell you that I have had a major case of baby fever recently. This was triggered when I visited a friend in the hospital who had just had a baby and was compounded when I realized that my "baby" is sitting up and on the verge of crawling...not really a baby any more in my opinion.
Noah and Jonah both have their own opinions on having another baby. Noah has put in his order for a girl. If you ask Jonah if we should get another baby, he violently shakes his head NO!
This week I filled in for two days at Noah's school. They put me in a room of ten three year old GIRLS. NO BOYS!!! I nearly went crazy trying to figure out how to tie scarves, attach hair bows, and clip those stupid little barrettes so that they actually hold hair.
I have now been officially scared out of trying for number four...a least for a little while! What would happen if we ended up with a little girl? I would be so in over my head.
Hopefully the pain of subbing is like the pain of childbirth. Time may soften the memories and one day Imay will once again experience baby fever.

More News
I know I promised more news and pictures from our fourth of July celebration down at the river, but I don't have any pictures yet. Hopefully my news will make up for the lack of pictures. Starting off with the little stuff, we did have a great time at the river. Noah and Jonah won 1st place in the parade and the fireworks out on the beach were amazing. We ate burgers, laid in the sun, and played in the sand all weekend.
Now to the other news! I'm sure you have noticed the tickers on the side of my blog. I have one set up counting down to each of the boy's birthdays and one for the number of years that Joe and I have been married. If you look again you will notice that I have added another ticker. Yep, we are pregnant! We are a little shocked, but very happy. I knew from the time that we brought Jonah home from the hospital that we would be bringing home another child soon. It is about four months sooner than I had planned on starting that project, but then again, none of my children have come when I planned for them. I have heard that the best way to make God laugh is to tell Him your plans. At this point, I think that God must have a great sense of humor!
